§ 6-34. Valves.

  • Valves shall be installed at every hydrant to make it possible to shut off parts of the piping system for repairs and extensions without putting large sections out of service. These valves shall be installed at intervals so that it is not necessary to cut off more than five hundred (500) feet in high value districts and not more than eight hundred (800) feet in other areas, and arranged so that flow may be maintained through arterial mains.
